Definition: morphology, form; the organization of something; the manner of construction of something and the management of its parts.
Without structure there would be no form. Structure provides a framework within which life arranges itself. Our skeleton provides the basic structure around which our bodies are formed, without which we would fall into a heap. Similarly, organizations, language and society all depend on structural elements that provide a framework or form from which their elements arise.
Structure is a principle that organizes life and allows things to take shape. Our individual lives are usually structured around meaning, value and beliefs. They provide the impetus for our choices, which determine our daily routine or structure.
In our daily lives, it is helpful if structural elements upon which we depend are flexible enough to adapt to life’s many changes. Excessive rigidity in structures keeps one locked into a way of being that hampers one’s growth – this is true on both the individual and collective level. On the other hand, excessive flexibility or fluidity in structure leads to a dissipation of energy and often elements do not take shape and fully actualize.
When you pull this card, you may want to examine the structures in your own life – both internally and externally. External structures can include organizational or societal elements that can be overbearing or restricting on one hand or, essentially non-existent and lacking on the other. Internal structures are beliefs and assumptions through which we perceive the world and see ourselves. Are you working under old frameworks? Perhaps you are lacking a framework and way of containing the energy you are bringing into your life.
Do you need more structure in your life, or has it become too rigid? Do you need to reorganize the current structures in your life? Is attachment to your routine and structure your sense of security? In what ways is your structure helping you? In what ways is it hindering you?

Every week I shuffle and draw a card to write about and represent the week ahead. My only rule is that if I draw one that I have already written about, I draw another. In this way I am using the spirit of the cards themselves. If you would like to view the full deck visit www.fuzionhealingarts.com/products .
